Hello Blogging Friends!!
Today is the 18th of the month and that means it is the
start of a new Encouragement Squad Challenge!
Calling All Sistahs August Encouragement Challenge
Why do we have the Encouragement Challenge?? There are a bazillion reasons someone might need a pick me up from going through an illness, relationship woes, working through a big life decision or just feeling a little lonely or unappreciated! Wouldn't it be nice to have a stash of cards you could send to a friend or loved one who could use a bright spot in their day? This challenge is here to help you with that! On the 18th of each month we will start a new challenge with a new inspiration photo.
Here is the Inspiration Photo for August:
Here is my card:
Ingredients:
White card stock
Rainbow paper
Neenah Solar White paper
Assorted color inks
Black ink
Versamark
Wow Silver embossing powder
Pink fun foam
For this A2 card I started with white card stock for the base of the card. I took the rainbow paper, inked the edges with blue ink and added that to the card. I took some Neenah Solar White paper, Versamark and the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Hope Ribbon and stamped that onto the paper. I heat embossed that with Wow Silver embossing powder and then colored in the hearts with a pink marker. I took the CAS -ual Fridays Stamps Ruffled Ribbon die and cut out the ribbon. I took some pink ink and inked all around the outside and inside edges of the ribbon. I took some pink fun foam and the Ruffled Ribbon die and cut that out and then attached the embossed ribbon on top of the foam ribbon and added that to the card. I took some black ink and the sentiment from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Calling All Sistahs stamp set and stamped that onto the card. I took the small hope ribbon from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Hope Ribbon stamp set and some different color inks and stamped the small ribbons over and under the sentiment in different color inks to represent the different forms of cancer.
This is so gorgeous!! I love the rainbow in the background!! It looks so amazing!! Beautiful card, my friend!! Have a great weekend!! Big hugs :)

ReplyDeleteFun idea to have a rainbow in the background for this challenge. It brings hope to anyone facing cancer and the flood of emotions that comes from it.
