Hello Blogging Friends,
I am going to an all day crop today and there is a Tag Swap at this crop. I had to make 10 Tags, all the same, I decided since it is so close to Halloween that I just had to go with that theme!
Here is my tag:
Ingredients:
Prima Marketing Julie Nutting Mixed Media Tag 3.5" by 8.5"
My Creative Times Frightful Greetings Kit stamps and die set
My Creative Times Spooky Time stamps and die set
Ranger Texture Paste Transparent Gloss
Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Crossed
Paper Tearing Ruler
Wild Honey Distress Oxide
Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide
Black Soot Distress Ink
White paper
Black paper
I started with the Prima Marketing Julie Nutting Mixed Media Tag and I took my blending tool and rubbed some Wild Honey Distress Ink onto the tag, I then rubbed on Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide on top of that. I took some coarse Kosher salt and shook out some salt on top of the tag and then spritzed it with water and let it dry. When the tags were dry, I rubbed off the salt and then took the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Crossed and some black ink and stenciled the black crosses onto the tag. I also took the sentiment "Happy Haunting" sentiment from the My Creative Time Frightful Greetings Kit and some black ink and stamped the sentiment on the top of the tag. While that was drying I cut out the two parts of the coffin dies from the My Creative Times Spooky Time stamp and die set with black paper. I took the smaller of the coffin pieces and the stencil from the My Creative Times Frightful Greetings Kit and the Ranger Texture Paste Transparent Gloss and a palette knife and spread the paste over the top of the stencil and then I let that dry. When it dries it has a shiny effect on the black paper. Once the smaller coffin piece was dry I glued that on top of the larger coffin piece, inked the edges with black ink. Next I stamped the skeleton stamp from the My Creative Times Frightful Greetings with black ink onto some white paper. I took the coordinating skeleton die and cut that out. I attached the skeleton to the back side of the coffin and then glued them onto the tags. I took some more white paper and the sentiment from the My Creative Time Spooky Time set and some black ink and stamped the sentiment onto the white paper. With my paper tearing ruler and ripped all four sides and then glued that on top of the coffin. Then I took some orange ribbon with black edge ribbon that I got from Michael's and tied that on the top of the tag. So what do you think? Do you think my Swapping Partners will like this tag? I sure hope so! I had a lot of fun making them all.

Hope you had fun at the crop! It sounds like an amazing day. How fun to swap tags! I remember 10-15 years ago we used to make ATCs and tags to swap at conventions. It was so much fun finding other swappers and going home with a ton of ideas. As for you Halloweenie tag, he is fabulous! Kind of lazy not wanting to stand up properly for a sincere greeting lol. Really spooky colors, and I’m not so sure I would dare open that coffin! Love it!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hugs, de
