Joy Clair Christmas in July

**This is one of 2 posts I have today.  If you are looking for the Calling All Sistahs July Challenge, please go here.**

Hello Blogging Friends,

Today I am on the Joy Clair Blog with the Joy Clair Christmas in July Celeberation!!  I am going to share a card that I made using one of my favorite Christmas stamp sets ~ Joy Clair Cozy Snowman Wishes!

I decided that I wanted to make a night time scene with this stamp set.

So I started with my craft mat, blending tool and some distress inks.

I started at the bottom of the paper and put some Picked Raspberry distress ink on the bottom of the water color paper with my blending tool.

Next I blended some Blueprint Sketch distress ink.

Then some Seedless Grape distress ink, and then some Black Soot distress ink around the edges.

I took some coarse salt and sprinkled it over the inked paper and then I took my water bottle and spritzed some water on it and let it dry.

When it was all dry I wiped the salt off the paper and got this beautiful background.

I took this paper and attached it to a Kraft card stock card base and put it on the side.  I took some shiny white paper and cut it out with one of the borders from the Spellbinders Curved Borders Two dies set and attached it to the bottom of the card.  Then I stamped the snowmen onto some water color paper with black ink and colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut them out.  I took some green paper and cut it out with the Tim Holtz Alterations tree die and I attached the tree to the card and then I placed the snowmen onto the card.  I took some Versamark and stamped one of the snowflakes and stamped that on the background and then heat emIbossed it with WOW White Pearl embossing powder.  I also sprinkled some of the embossing powder onto the background and then heat embossed it so that it would look like teeny tiny snowflakes floating down from the sky.  Lastly I took the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Joy Clair Cozy Snowman Wishes stamp set and some black ink and stamped that onto some white paper and then cut it out with a small oval die and placed that onto the top of the card.  I really like the way the night sky turned out!!

Here is a closer look at the finished card:

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial!
