Today is the start of another challenge over at the DL.ART Thankful Thursdays Challenge #178 with a theme of Water (rain, faucets, tubs, etc.) or you can always substitute a Thank You card for any of the challenges.
Here is my tag for DL.ART Thankful Thursdays Challenge #178 ~ Water:
Ingredients:
Newton's Nook Designs Tranquil Tides dies
Newton's Nook Designs Tranquil Tides stamps
Tim Holtz Stencil Flourish
Ranger Texture Paste Transparent Gloss
Distress Inks: Broken China, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Faded Jeans
Copic markers
I started by wetting my Prima Julie Nutting Mixed Media Tag and then I put distress ink on my tag and mixed it together with a water paint brush and then I let it dry. Next I stamped my Prima Julie Nutting Sea Sallie Mermaid stamp with black ink onto white neenah paper and then I colored her with my Copic markers. Then I placed my Tim Holtz Stencil Flourish over the Mermaids tale and I applied the Texture Paste and let that dry. When she was dry I placed her on the tag. Then I stamped the Newton's Nook Design Tranquil Tides stamps with distress ink and then colored them with my Copic markers, and then I cut them out with the matching Newton's Nook Design Tranquil Tides dies, and then I glued them onto the tag. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with black ink. Then I took some DL.ART Mermaids Tale Bundle 3rd Edition Orange Green Hue ribbon and made a bow on the top of the tag. I love the way the ribbon compliments the seahorse and sea star!
