Christmas Poinsettia

Hello Blogging Buddies,

I am here today with another Christmas card for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.

For this A2 card I started with white card stock for the base of the card. Next I added the pink patterned paper.  I took the Penny Black Burst of Red die and cut out the bottom part of the poinsettia in red paper, the top piece of the poinsettia I cut out with white distress paper that I had inked with Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose distress inks and spritzed with some water.  I attached the pink to the red and then used some gold sticklers for the center of the flower.  Then I cut out the Marianne Creatables Pine Branch die twice with green paper.  I put some VersaMark on the pine branches and heat embossed it with Sparkle N Sprinkle Forest Green Embossing Powder and then I placed the Pine Branches underneath the Poinsettia.  Next I took my Christmas Blessings stamp and stamped it with black ink onto white paper and I cut it out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals die and I placed that on the card.  I love the white and pink poinsettias this time of year, I even saw a blue and purple tie dyed poinsettia at the store the other day!

I will be mailing this card to Caring Hearts Card Drive along with the other Christmas cards I have been making.
This is the 6th year that Vera Yates and Jennifer McGuire   have been collecting handmade Christmas cards to give to those that live in nursing homes.  Caring Hearts Card Drive is all about bringing joy and holiday cheer to the elderly that are often quite lonely.  This card drive will be going on from October 3 to November 27, 2015.  All Christmas cards must be delivered before November 27th.

I  hope I have inspired you to create a Christmas card today for the Caring Hearts Card Drive to bring some joy to someone living in a nursing home.

Thanks for stopping by!!
