You've Got Star Quality

Hello Friends,

I am sure you all know by now that I make cards for Operation Write Home, an organization that sends blank cards to our military to keep in touch with their loved ones back home because there is no Hallmark store in Afghanistan.  Well every month Our Daily Bread Designs posts a challenge to the OWH cardmakers, and if we get 50 entries they will sponsor the shipping of two boxes of cards!!  That is so awesome!!  So the August ODBD Challenge is to make a card with stars!  So here is my "Star" card for the challenge:

For this A2 card I started with kraft cardstock and inked the edges with blue distress ink.  Next I cut out a piece of navy blue with white stars paper to 4 inches by 5 1/4 inches and attached that to the card.  Then I took some red shimmer paper and cut out a big star using a Spellbinder die.  Next I took my stamp "You've got star quality" and inked it with Versamark and then stamped in the middle of the star, I used some Sparkle N Sprinkle Nautical embossing powder and heat embossed that and added the star to the card.  Next I took my Taylored Expressions Stars Border die and cut it out using the same red shimmer paper and added that to the bottom of the card, and I used the stars from the centers on the top of the card.  So I think this qualifies as a "Star" card, don't you?

Please check out all the other cards created for the August ODBD Challenge and leave some love for the ones you really like, or for all of them!!  We all love to read what you think of our cards!

I hope I have inspired you today to create something pretty!

Thanks for stopping by!
Lori

PS...Don't forget to check out the new Scrapy Land Challenge Blog on September 3rd for our very first challenge!!
