With Sympathy

Hello Blogging Friends,

Today I am sharing a Sympathy card I recently made for a friend of mine.  I always have a difficult time making these, it seems like I never know where to start.  But I like this one turned out.

 Ingredients:

Dusty Concord distress oxide
Peeled Paint distress oxide
Tim Holtz Purple Mica Spray
White card stock
Lavender paper
Black paper
Iridescent paper
Black ink
With Sympathy stamp
Foam Tape

For this A2 card I started by making the base of the card with White card stock.  I took a piece of white card stock, the Tim Holtz Flourish Stencil and some Dusty Concord distress oxide and applied it with one of my blending brushes on the corners and then I took the Miss Ink Stamps Mouse Flower Stencil and some Peeled Paint distress oxide and applied that to the middle of the card with a blending brush.  I took the Tim Holtz Halloween Purple Mica Spray and sprayed that over it.  I added that to the card.  I took some Lavender paper and the Greetery Shapely Hearts die and cut out the heart.  I some Dusty Concord to add to the heart.  I took the With Sympathy stamp and some Black ink and stamped that onto the heart.  I took some foam tape and added that to the back of the heart and added that to the card.  I took the Simon Says Etched Dragonfly die and some black paper and some iridescent paper and cut out the dragonfly, pieced it together and added it to the card.

Can't Wait To Sea You!

Hello Blogging Friends,

It is my turn on the Dies R Us Blog today and I am sharing a fun Underwater Scene card:

For this A2 card I started with White card stock to make the base of the card.  I took a piece of Ranger Distress Watercolor card stock, my blending brushes and several Distress Oxides and blended them onto the paper and then spritzed it with water and let it dry.  I took some sand paper and ripped it with a ripping tool and inked the edges with Brown ink and added it to the bottom of the distress paper.  I inked the edges of the distress paper with some Aqua ink and added it to the card base.  I took several different shades of green ink and the  the plant dies from the  Sue Wilson Can't Wait To Sea You die set and cut out the plants and added them to the card.  I took some Bronze glitter paper and the seahorse die and cut it out twice.  I used a Black marker to draw an eye on each of the seahorses and then I added them to the card wrapping them around the seaweed.  I took the turtle die and some Green paper and cut out the turtle, I rubbed some Brown ink on his back and added him to the card.  I took the iridescent paper and the Memory Box Octopi dies and cut them out and added them to the card.  I took the sentiment and some Blue paper and cut that out and added it to the card.  I really like how this underwater scene turned out!

Lavinia World Challenge #19

Hello Lavinia World Friends!!

Today is the start of a new challenge on the Lavinia World Challenge Blog:

'

Lavinia World Challenge #19

Ingredients:

Ken Oliver Color Bursts
Neenah Desert Storm paper
Watercolor paper
Black ink

For this A2 card I started by making the base of the card with a piece of Neenah Desert Storm paper.  I took a piece of Watercolor paper and wet it down with my spritz bottle and then I took some Ken Oliver Color Bursts and sprinkled them on top of the wet paper and then dried it with my heat gun.  I spritzed more water onto the paper until I got the colors I wanted.  I took some Black ink and the Druid Inn stamp and stamped that onto the paper.  I stamped the Fairy Foragers and the Let Your Spirit Take Flight stamps onto the paper too and then I attached that to the card base.

The theme for Lavinia World Challenges is always "Anything Goes" using a stamped image (sorry no digi stamps, but rather rubber or clear stamps are perfect).  The winner will receive a $15 Gift Certificate to Lavinia World.

Now hop on over to the Lavinia World Challenge Blog to see what the talented Design Team have created for this challenge!
