Welcome to the Think Pink Blog Hop!! October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so the Die-Versions Design Team wanted to bring Breast Cancer Awareness to our crafty friends. We want to get the message out to all women about the importance of early detection with regular self-breast exams and mammograms.
We want all of you to Hop with us!! Link up as many new projects (no back-linking) that fit the theme of Breast Cancer Awareness for a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate generously provided by Die Versions. Die-Versions manufactures low profile dies made right here in the United States. You can see all of the dies Die-Versions has to offer and do some shopping at the Die-Versions store.
Many of the designers today will be using images generously provided by Doodle Pantry. Doodle Pantry provides a diverse selection of images. There is something for everyone, so be sure to stop by to see all they have to offer.
We have also joined with Fighting Pretty to donate cards to be delivered to breast cancer patients. If you would like to donate your cards we would love to pass them along to brighten the days of needed recipients. Please email Lori at mulchlady(at)aol(dot)com for the address to send your cards.
Here's the entire line-up in case you get lost along the way:
Okay now here are my cards, I went a little crazy making cards to be donated to Fighting Pretty! But I also wanted to show you that you can use your dies for other things then what you first think of. In total I have 6 cards to share, please let me know which one is your favorite. And here is my first card that I made for the blog hop today:
For this 5 by 7 inch card I started with a hot pink cardstock for the base of the card, then I added the pink patterned paper. Next I cut out the Die-Versions Whispers Vase of Roses in three different colors of paper, off white, green and pink, and then pieced it together. Then I placed the Vase of Roses on a piece of tan paper and stamped Hope on the card with VersaMark and clear embossing powder, I also sprinkled some embossing powder around the Vase of Roses and heat embossed it to give it a little texture, then I placed that on the base. This is such a beautiful die and I think it works perfectly on this card.
My next card is the Tree of Hope:
For this A2 card I used hot pink cardstock as the base and put some pink patterned paper from my stash on top of that. Then I cut out the Die-Versions Whispers Four Seasons Tree die in brown and placed that on the card after wrapping a pink ribbon around the tree. I added some pink pearls to some of the branches of the tree. Next I used the Die-Versions Little Lizzie Font to cut out the hot pink HOPE. As a final touch I added the pink gem butterfly to the top part of the card. I love the delicate branches on this tree die!
My next card is the Pink Ribbon of HOPE:
For this card I cut out the Die-Versions Whispers Spring Has Sprung die in white paper and I added the pink sparkly ribbon to the center of the die, next I cut out the Die-Versions Little Red Font in hot pink paper and placed that under the Spring Has Sprung die.
My next card is Butterfly Kisses
For this card I started with pale pink cardstock for the base of the card, then I added some patterned pink paper. Next I took the Die-Versions Whispers Butterfly Kisses die and cut it out in light pink paper and added that to the card. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark and used white embossing powder and heat embossed it.
My next card is the Sweet & Sassy Survivor:
For this card I used the Die-Verssions Sweet Spot Sweet & Sassy die and I used the Die-Versions Marker-Micro Font for Survivor. The butterfly is from a Bo Bunny sticker sheet I had in my stash.
My next card is Heart of Hope:
For this card I used the Die-Versions Whispers Heart Flowers Frame die, and I have to tell you that this is my "go to" die when I can't come up with anything else. I have used it on a layout for my cousins wedding with their names inside the heart and for Mother's Day cards and Birthday cards! I cut out the Whispers Heart Flowers frame twice, once in solid pink paper and once in patterned pink paper. I inlaid the patterned paper and add the green hope. I then clear embossed the flowers and leaves on the heart and then filled in the leaves and flowers with some diamond Stickles. Next I cut out the Die-Versions Cuppycake Font in green and added Hope to the card.
I hope you have enjoyed my cards and will continue on the rest of the Think Pink Blog Hop!
