Operation Write Home: Finishing Strong Bloghop

Hello Friends and Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!

It’s time once again to celebrate Memorial Day with the biggest bloghop on the block! We’ve held this hop year after year, and it’s always full of such great inspiration. 2015 is a little different for us: we’re asking all of YOU to help us share our final campaign with the crafty world: Finishing Strong!  Operation Write Home is nearing the finish line of our mission, and all cards must be received by us before August 1st 2015. We want to spread the word to everyone who’s got cards they’ve been meaning to send in! We will be closing after that date, so if they’ve always wanted to help our service members, it’s now the time to send in cards.  Operation Write Home, a charity that has supported heroes with handmade cards since 2007, will be closing later this year.  All cards need to be sent in to OWH before August 1st, 2015, so I am hoping to get the word out!!  You can help by passing this along to any card makers that you know!!

The theme for this Blog Hop is to make a red, white and blue card using one of the following themes::

    *  Love cards
    * Missing You cards
    * Thank you cards
    * Birthday cards
    * Any Hero cards with notes inside written TO them!

We encourage using one of the OWH sketches here.  Please follow the guidelines posted HERE.

For my first card I used OWH Sketch #254 and just tweaked it a bit!

For the rest of my cards I used a bunch of different dies that I have to make the cards and I didn't follow a sketch.  If you have never tried a sketch ~ YOU really should try one of the OWH Sketches because they are wonderful and free!!  Now here is the rest of my cards:

So what do you think?  Will our heroes like sending any of these cards home to their loved ones?  Do you have a favorite one?  Do you want to know what dies I used for one of the cards.  Let me know in the comments area and I will get back to you!

I hope I have inspired you to make something beautiful today!  And please spread the word that all cards for OWH need to reach them before August 1st!!

Please be sure to go to the OWH Stars and Stamps blog to see the list of participants and be sure to leave the creative ladies some LOVE on their blogs.

Thank you to all our Heroes (past and present) and their families for all that they do for the USA!

Happy Memorial Day!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
Lori

  5. On the first one-at least on my screen...that bit of white around the edge is looking illuminated which is very cool.

  12. Great take on our current sketch - love the chicken wire element on the first card. Every card is so interesting to look at, difficult to choose, but I like last card best - the papers with the thanks die and that mesh die is something else!

  27. Lori, These are fantastic cards. Your patriotic collection is fabulous. I was so sad when I found out that they where not going the cards anymore. My friends and I have been doing this for a long time and have a box. Glad their are not as many troops to send them to but will miss doing them.
