Operation Write Home Memorial Day BlogHop

Welcome to my stop on the Operation Write Home Memorial Day BlogHopOperation Write Home supports our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade cards for them to write home to their loved ones, as well as "Any Hero" cards of gratitude and encouragement!   I am so excited to be participating in this wonderful bloghop!  What a great way to honor our heroes and start 2014 Memorial Day!!  I hope you are having fun checking out all the great cards being posted and that you will be inspired to make some beautiful cards for OWH too!

The BlogHop theme this year was to use and OWH Sketch and a make a red, white and blue card  in one of the following categories:

Love cards
Missing You cards
Thank You cards
Birthday Cards
Any Hero Cards ~ with notes inside written to them!!

Here is the OWH Sketch Archive

For this challenge I made two cards, one "Miss You" card and one "Any Hero" card that I will write a note in and include in my next shipment of cards to OWH.  For these two cards I used OWH Sketch #225:

And here is my "Miss You"card:

And here is my "Any Hero" card:

For both of these A2 cards I started with white cardstock for the base of the card.  Next I cut a piece of Bo Bunny Anthem paper to 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches and inked the edges with Denim Distressed ink and then placed that on the white cardstock base. I also inked the edges of the white cardstock with the same ink.  On the Hero card I used a strip of Doodlebuy Designs Stars & Stripes paper.  For both of these cards I used Die-Versions dies "Miss You" Sweet Phrases and the "Hero" Sweet Phrases and then I placed some red and blue stars on the cards.

Thanks for stopping by!
